This is a set of pictures of Jenelle that struck a chord in me.
I don't now what it is about about a brown girl wearing a pair of plain black knickers, a plain sleeveless white blouse, white socks, bangly earrings with hair undone that strikes such a chord in me. Lara Croft style breasts could be a factor. But there it is - the essence of American. Not White, not African, not Latino, not Asian - but simply American.
The two with the _american tag were the ones that gave this set its name. The first one is the one that had me name it Supremely American. It has a perfection of beauty and cultural identity that leads me to describe it as such. It is as though in the case of Western Africans, it is Americans that define what the African displaying the European type of beauty and style looks like.
I find it hard to believe that this often blurry video of a girl cavorting around could bring out such shots.
Those with the _end tag are the ones that really struck a chord in me.
I can't find the words but they have some aesthetic quality, a sense of assurance, about her body and her pose, as though somehow it can't be improved upon, or detracted from in any way.
It as though in standing the way she does her being can't be improved upon in anyway, like there is some quality in her bearing and being that is simply unassailable - you just can't top that.
I think in Jenelle I have found a muse, a goddess and a vocation.
This is a picture I really like.
Though it is blurred, the blurred quality shows the main features of her face. She has a sweet cute smile which she overdoes, but it is the way she is anyway.
It is one of my early favorites.
She displays a genuine joy, not just the joy of being the centre of attraction but a genuine joy in her body's movements, as though she delights very much in the patterns her body like to cut.
There is something I consider somewhat American - not African American but simply American about her. It could be the way her hair is set in the picture. It is just that Jenelle thing, the Jenelle quality.
It is all I can say.
These three struck a chord in me.
I can't find the words but they have some aesthetic quality, a sense of assurance, about her body and her pose, as though somehow it can't be improved upon, or detracted from in any way.
It as though in her stance expresses her mood in a way that can't be improved in upon, like there is some quality in her bearing and being that is simply unassailable - you just can't top that.
I think the word I want is immaculate.
She appears drawn in, as though she is holding her body in against cold, but it is just the movement of the dance.
The closeness of her arms to her body makes it look as though she is hold her body against the cold, but the erect elongated pose, the slim waist, the blurred forearms, the raised shoulder makes you see that the picture was captured at exactly the right point in the dance.
How does Jenelle do it? Have I been spending too much time watching the critic show after Newsnight on BBC2?
There is something about her stance with her arm raised to her ear.
For some reason I find her pose in the picture very attractive.
There is something about her the picture I really like. Is it her face? Is it the open mouth which looks like she is talking with someone? I think there is something about the brow, the cheeks, that catches my attention.
Some one should help me with my vocabulary. Am I stuck on her because I can't find the words to describe the pictures?
There is a verve, a style, and the joy of the pretty smile on her face is something I really like.
She really smiles great when she is dancing.
She expresses a genuine joy.
I think she really delights in her body's flair for dance, and is proud of it.
Definitely Jenelle.
This is one of the pictures that really impressed me about her poise.
There is something familiar about the pose, like it is a common style that photographers like models to adopt.
She does it so well, although it is captured when she was dancing, as a still image it looks just so good.
Can anyone name one of the pictures that are like this one?
How does Jenelle do it?
jenelle_end_02_upAmerican Diva
There is something bold, enquiring and confident about this picture.
Her cheeks, the flared nostrils, the hoops and the African lips display a confident willingness to explore her place in the universe, expressively, with style of course, like the American Diva she is.
There is something about her complexion in this picture, the shiny skin that makes her curiously African American in a way I quite can't define. She reminds me of the pictures of American female singers on album covers.
That reminds me. Record companies should issue CDs in 12 inch album sleeves so we can have better pictures of the artistes. Standard CD cases don't do them justice.
Jenelle jumping - what? It is just a blurred picture of Jenelle jumping.
That is right. With Jenelle there is no such thing as just.
It is Jenelle ,you know.
I have seen a picture like this, some what stylized in relief, but Jenelle just seems to capture the style it so well.
The elongated chin and the shape of her head capture it so well.
These last 2 capture Jenelle with what an American flag. Where would the American theme be without the flag?
Of course it is not a flag. It is a quilt with something blue lying around it. In any case it passes for an American flag.
Will there be more in these series?
A definite yes, the Quintessentially | Supremely | American series will continue.
There are a lot more good shots in that video.
It's a pity the images are not as sharp as I would like, but the same quality enhances some of the pictures.
