Who or What is Krishna?

The Krishna avatar is the totality of the charismatic essence of God, the charisma of God resting within and projected outward from a human form.
The Living Consciousness of the Universe
Krishna is the personality of the living consciousness - the living, breathing, heart-beating, sentient, intelligent consciousness that IS the universe itself.

If you are inclined to see every physical object and every living creature as having a soul, as having an intelligent spirit within it, then the being of Krishna constitutes the unified consciousness of all objects and creatures of the past, present and future. This aspect in fact, is a mere fraction of Krishna's being.

Krishna is the Soul of the Universe

The End Goal of Yoga

Krishna is the embodiment of the End Goal of Yoga. All devotees to Krishna devote themselves to Yoga even if they are not aware of the Yogic aspect of Krishna.

Krishna is the spirit of the end goal of yoga incarnated in the form of a human being. He embodies everything all devotees of Yoga seek. His body is the light of Yogic perfection. He is the guru of all liberated gurus. Can he have greater superlatives?

The Accepter of all Pure Hearted Offerings
Krishna is the Accepter of all offerings given with a pure hearted devotional intent. No matter what spiritual condition a person is in, if that person makes a pure hearted offering to Krishna He accepts it.
The Accepter of Advocacy of His Person
Krishna allows a person sing His praises and His graces in advocacy of His person. So long as a person is sincere in their love for Krishna, and is attired in a fitting manner in the circumstances, Krishna allows them to extol His virtues.
The Power of Krishna's Human Form
Some people have an issue with Krishna's human form embodying the totality of Mahavishnu. The idea that a mere flesh and blood person possesses the complete essence of God is simply incomprehensible - but let us consider this simile.

Take a very powerful computer, let us say at a search engine like Google. If you are sitting inside one of Google's data centres, sitting a few feet away from the computers, and you have a terminal attached to their search engine, you have access to all the power of the system. If you move to a computer 10,000 miles away and you plug a terminal to link you to Google, the power at your disposable is no less than if you are in the data centre itself. All the power of the search engine is at your fingertips.

In this same way having access to the incarnate Krishna is no different from having access to the whole of Vishnu. Why should people have a problem with this?

If they are willing to understand that God is all powerful why should they have a problem with God placing the totality of His Supreme Power in a mortal human form?

Krishna as Yogeshvara - The Peerless Lord of Yoga
To understand Krishna is to understand God in his unmanifest form as Yogeshvara. If as a non-Hindu, you understand God in the form of Jehovah, Allah or Buddha as Yogeshvara, you don't have to call Krishna using his Hindu name Krishna anymore. Using the name of God in your religion is always a reference to Krishna.
God is another name of Krishna!!??!!
Ah - Gotcha, you unbelievers!. You thought I would say Krishna is another name for God, but really it is the other way round. That is how a true believer sees it.
